    Led the WHO Country response to COVID-19 pandemic as the Incident Manager, providing leadership, coordination and technical support to the Government of Namibia in its response to the pandemic with additional attention to surveillance and point of entry pillars. As the focal person, I provided technical advice to the WHO CO and the UNCT in their support to the Gov of Namibia and worked with partners, NGOs, private sector and governmental agencies in assessing the situation, planning, mobilisation of resources and the development and promulgation of national regulations and directives on the overall public health and social measures, including private and public sector policies and guidelines

    This was a short-term assignment as an independent expert to develop “Communication and Coordination” materials for public health emergencies as a training package, under the “Regional Programme Support to Pandemic Prevention in ECOWAS Region” funded by GIZ through GFA Consulting Group GmbH. Topics covered include (and not limited to) incident Management Systems, Surge Management, Stakeholder management, Partner Coordination, Vulnerable Groups, One Health and Gender Sensitivity in humanitarian situation. The blended learning material were completed followed by a training-of-trainers (ToT) and coaching at the regional level and implementation of training at the country level.

    Worked as technical advisor to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) under a DFID supported Saving Lives Project (SLP) in Sierra Leone. I provided technical support on all issues aimed at strengthening the health systems with particular focus on building a resilient health system, including national action plans for health security and strengthening disease control, EPI, maternal, child and adolescent health services, nutrition, and quality of care. I provided concept and advisory notes, and reviewed policies and other national documents and reports, and contributed to reviewing and advising on donor funded projects from several donors.
